abstract

the main objective in this paper is creating a method for one-dimensional modeling of multi stage axial flow turbine. the calculation used in this technique is based on common thermodynamics and aerodynamics principles in a mean stream line analyses. in this approach, loss models have to be used to determine the entropy increase across each section in the turbine stage. finally, the analysis and comparisons between the calculated results and experimental data are performed.

Performance Prediction Modeling of Axial-Flow Compressor by Flow Equations

Design models of multi- stage, axial flow compressor are developed for gas turbine engines. Axial flow compressor is one of the most important parts of gas turbine units. Therefore, its design and performance prediction are very important. One-dimensional modeling is a simple, fast and accurate method for performance prediction of any type of compressors with different geometries. In this appro...

Development And Validation Of A Bezier Curve Based Profile Generation Method For Axial Flow Turbines

The important step in the turbine aerodynamic design is generation of blade element profiles to achieve the required flow deflection and smooth flow acceleration with minimum losses. During profile generation, in addition to aerodynamic performance, additional constraints of thermal, structural and castability requirements need to be considered. Thus profile generation is a trade-off between co...

Performance Modeling and Examination of Losses in the Axial -Flow Compressor and Comparisonwith Experimental Results

The performance prediction of axial flow compressors at different speeds and under various pressure ratio conditions are still being developed because of costly empirical experiments. One-dimensional modeling is a simple, fast and accurate method for performance prediction in any type of compressor with different geometries. In this approach, inlet flow conditions and compressor geometry are kn...
